Today, God Chose you to be his angel

He must have loved you alot

He picked you out of millions

He saw what was in your heart

He took you up to heaven

He wanted you by his side

He saw your precious smile

He knew you would be his pride

Even though we're left here suffering

'Cause we wont have you here anymore

We're proud that you were so special

That God wanted you to come home.

Claudia Isabel Castillo was born on March 13, 1983.  Her mother, not prepared for her arrival, had not yet picked out a name.  According to Maria, the only thing she could think of, besides her newborn babe, was how cloudy the day had been and that is how Claudia eventually got her name.

Names can be as unique as the people who bear them.  The word Claudia is defined as dazzling, and dazzling she was.  Claudia adored dancing and singing.  She could easily persuade her siblings and cousins into cleaning house by involving these activities.  She loved talking them into pretending they were a singing group, such as 'N Sync, as they acted out their favorite songs and group members.  Selena was her all time favorite female artist while J.C., of the music group 'N Sync, was her favorite male artist.

Claudia's love for dance started at the tender age of 5 at Darlene's Dance Workshop.  It was like a second home for her and her sisters.  She participated in Darlene's for 10 years as a student and had the pleasure of helping instruct the preschool classes for 2 years.  She loved ballet and lyrical dance routines and showed her passion for the two as she preformed.

She enjoyed her years at Delano High as a part of the DHS Color Guard.  In the last 2 years of her high school career, she came out to dazzle even more.  She surprised her parents by announcing that she would participate in Delano's Junior Miss Scholarship Program.  Her experience with Junior Miss was so positive that her confidence in herself grew.  She decided to also participate in both Delano's Harvest Holidays and Cinco de Mayo Queen show; earning 3rd runner up in both.

Upon graduation, Claudia had great ambitions to be part of a special team and that is exactly what she did.  On September 26, 2001, Claudia left to train for the Air Force.  She graduated from boot camp in Lack Land, TX.  She received special training in Morse code from Ft. Huachuca  in AZ and Naval Technical Training Center in Pensacola, FL.  She received her Air Force Intelligence Badge for upholding the highest traditions and standards of the Air Force.

On December 1, 2002, Claudia was scheduled to report to Osan, Korea and receive her order of duty.  Not even Claudia knew that her duty would come from such high ranks.

On November 19, 2002, Claudia left us on earth to return to our Heavenly Father.  Her ambition was to be part of a Special Teams Program and she has made it.  She is now part of God's Team, the highest honor possible.

Thank You Claudia for all of your memories and that beautiful smile that we will cherish forever.
